I just love Mel Sherratt as an author, and in particular I really like her "Ëstate" books (they seem to have finished? what a pity!). She gets right into the story and it is not always pleasant, but it is always real. If you read one Mel Sherratt book, you will be hooked on everything she writes - which is another thing. She is a serious writer - you never feel she is writing just because she has to follow up the last book. Each book is seriously crafted. My only regret is that I cant always afford her books, so I wait to see if/when the price decreases!Maureen Rowland-Aitken South Africa

Not as good as the first two. Heavy concentration on deep mental and emotional health issues make this book a real downer.
I have only just discovered Mel and what a find!! This Trilogy kept me reading from book 1 to 3 very quickly and I would of loved more! She easily equals Martina Cole and similar authors and I look forward to more!!
Since I have read all 3 books in The Estate Series I have come to enjoy each and every character. Stories sincerely depicted how terrible and abusive some women lives can be

wow yes yesyes another great read by this author oh my supsense or what absolutely wonder read in fact o am just going to order another two books super stuff gripping, supspense dont want to put down i feel like that about all this ladies books super recommended
Thought I already reviewed this book sorry. Read all of Mel Sherratts Estate books. She is truly fantastic. As people know I dont give away any spoilers. Not fair on the reader. This book was probably IF I had to choose was my favorite out of the 3. The characters, the description, the dialect. It is like a movie. You can see, feel, even smell. That takes talent. A must recommend. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did. Start with the number one. You wont be disappointed I can promise you that.
I've read the complete series and I think I like this book the least of the three. Honestly, with the exception of Josie, I didn't really like the characters. Of course not the Bradley's and I don't think people that entrenched in that type of lifestyle or mentality change that easily or to that extent, if at all. For me, it just wasn't quite a believable story and even in fiction, it still has to be believable. I like one the best, but two wasn't bad either and ultimately, I expected more than I got with three. That being said, I overall enjoy the writings of this author and will definitely read her again.
